These are all a little old as I haven’t done any TV for quite a few years. These are a few things I was quite pleased with though during that time.
TV Drama & Comedy
Wuthering Heights
This was made for ITV and WGBH Boston. Written by Neil McKay and shot over six weeks in North Yorkshire and at Elstree Studios.
A & E
A stand alone episode shot outside the permanent set for this show. A substantial set was built including the trailer with the digger.
Many of the actors had escaped recently from the Yugoslav war. They were a joy to work with and we went on to develop Tea Shop Asylum from the insane stories they told me about their first months as refugees in the UK.
Streetlife
This was a pilot for a comedy cops series with Jack Dee and John Thompson that provoked much excitement; sadly though, contractual wrangling meant it never progressed to series.
I am though truly proud of it.
Dr Willoughby
A comedy series written by Laurie Rowley and starring Joanna Lumley.
The Giblet Boys
A madcap children’s TV series.
I was lead director on two series and also wrote some of the second series.
It won Best Drama in the 2006 BAFTA Awards. After which of course CiTV cancelled it.
