stripped
Feature Film
Synopsis
Jessica Freedman grew up believing every princess deserves her fairy tale,
and she lived hers so completely that she lost her mind, her heart, her business, and her freedom to a fascination that became an obsession.
To a soundtrack of iconic songs from the period, ‘Stripped’ tells the true story of her wild, weird, and wonderful journey through the tantalising nineties and the really very noughties.
Jessica was a successful Jewish businesswoman in her early thirties when she was invited to see the all-American male glamour hunk invasion that was Unzipped Fantasy.
She was so mesmerised by the show and the raw masculine beauty, that she was determined to have that in her life regardless of the consequences.
Jessica’s talent for making things happen was already legendary, but when she joined forces with outlandish business partner Beauregard, they became unstoppable. Together they dominated the male glamour industry and their troupe, The Heavenly Hunks truly defined an era, becoming household names, while Jessica became the only woman in the world to run the biggest names in male stripping.
Of course, she sampled the goods, be rude not to, but she wanted more. In a business riddled with lies and deception, her main vulnerability was a warm heart and a desire to be loved. These shouldn’t be weaknesses, but they did result in colossal errors of judgement and almighty cock-ups.
In the process, Jessica met Guy, and without even realising it, created her perfect man. When her world finally came crashing down and she faced prison, it was he who helped her through, he who was there for her when she went on the run, and he who she realised, was the unquestioned love of her life.
Jessica fell in love with the glitz and glamour of showbusiness. It became an insane ride, alternately fulfilling, deeply weird, hysterically funny, challenging, shocking, rewarding and so horribly distressing, it came close to destroying her. But maybe that’s the point, maybe life deliberately shatters your illusions, exposes your fantasies and beats down your ego, exactly so that you can find the strength that is only available in who you really are.
